7.201

surah 7 - verse 201

Arberry The godfearing, when a visitation of Satan troubles them, remember, and then see clearly;
Maududi If the God-fearing are instigated by any suggestion of Satan, they instantly become alert, whereafter they clearly perceive the right way.
Pickthall Lo! those who ward off (evil), when a glamour from the devil troubleth them, they do but remember (Allah's Guidance) and behold them seers!
Sahih Indeed, those who fear Allah - when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight.
Yusuf Ali Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)!

7.202

surah 7 - verse 202

Arberry and their brothers they lead on into error, then they stop not short.
Maududi As for their brethren [the Satans], they draw them deeper into error and do not relax in their efforts.
Pickthall Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not.
Sahih But their brothers - the devils increase them in error; then they do not stop short.
Yusuf Ali But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts).

surah 7 - verse 203

Arberry And when thou bringest them not a sign, they say, 'Why hast thou not chosen one?' Say: 'I follow only what is revealed to me from my Lord; this is clear testimony from your Lord, guidance, and mercy for a people of believers.'
Maududi [O Prophet!] When you do not produce before them any miracle, they say: 'Why do you not choose for yourself a miracle?' Say to them: 'I follow only what is revealed to me by my Lord. This is nothing but a means of insight into the truth, and guidance and mercy from your Lord to the people who believe.
Pickthall And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe.
Sahih And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."
Yusuf Ali If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith."

7.204

surah 7 - verse 204

Arberry And when the Koran is recited, give you ear to it and be silent; haply so you will find mercy.
Maududi So when the Qur'an is recited, listen carefully to it, and keep silent so that you may, be shown mercy.'
Pickthall And when the Qur'an is recited, give ear to it and pay heed, that ye may obtain mercy.
Sahih So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.
Yusuf Ali When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy.

7.205

surah 7 - verse 205

Arberry Remember thy Lord in thy soul, humbly and fearfully, not loud of voice, at morn and eventide. Be not thou among the heedless.
Maududi And remember [O Prophet] your Lord in your mind, with humility and fear, and without raising your voice; remember Him in the morning and evening, and do not become of those who are negligent.
Pickthall And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful.
Sahih And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless.
Yusuf Ali And do thou (O reader!) Bring thy Lord to remembrance in thy (very) soul, with humility and in reverence, without loudness in words, in the mornings and evenings; and be not thou of those who are unheedful.

surah 7 - verse 206

Arberry Surely those who are with thy Lord wax not too proud to serve Him; they chant His praise, and to Him they bow.
Maududi [The angels] who are near to Your Lord, never turn away from His service out of arrogance; they rather glorify Him and prostrate themselves before Him.
Pickthall Lo! those who are with thy Lord are not too proud to do Him service, but they praise Him and prostrate before Him.
Sahih Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate.
Yusuf Ali Those who are near to thy Lord, disdain not to do Him worship: They celebrate His praises, and prostrate before Him.
