26.61

surah 26 - verse 61

Arberry	and, when the two hosts sighted each other, the companions of Moses said, 'We are overtaken!'
Maududi	and when the groups came face to face, the companions of Moses cried out: "We are overtaken!"
Pickthall	And when the two hosts saw each other, those with Moses said: Lo! we are indeed caught.
Sahih	And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"
Yusuf Ali	And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken."

26.62

surah 26 - verse 62

Arberry	Said he, 'No indeed; surely my Lord is with me; He will guide me.'
Maududi	Moses said: "Certainly not. My Lord is with me; He will direct me."
Pickthall	He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.
Sahih	[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
Yusuf Ali	(Moses) said: "By no means! my Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!"

26.63

surah 26 - verse 63

Arberry	Then We revealed to Moses, 'Strike with thy staff the sea'; and it clave, and each part was as a mighty mount.
Maududi	Then We revealed to Moses, (commanding him): "Strike the sea with your rod." Thereupon the sea split up, and then each became like the mass of a huge mount.
Pickthall	Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast.
Sahih	Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
Yusuf Ali	Then We told Moses by inspiration: "Strike the sea with thy rod." So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.

26.64

Arberry	Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate.

Pickthall	And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
Sahih	And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Yusuf Ali	And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

Maududi	They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy."

Yusuf Ali	They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them."
