Arberry | If the unbelievers had fought you, they would have turned their backs, and then found neither protector nor helper; |
Maududi | Had the unbelievers fought against you at that time, they would have turned their backs (in flight), and would have found none to protect or help them. |
Pickthall | And if those who disbelieve join battle with you they will take to flight, and afterward they will find no protecting friend nor helper. |
Sahih | And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper. |
Yusuf Ali | If the Unbelievers should fight you, they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper. |
